Free Press Summer Fest

Free Press Houston announced the first Summer Fest in its June 2009 issue, for August 8 and 9. The held poster is Shelby Hohl's; the lineup survives on the festival's own archive of previous years.

The festival's 2010 working folder survives: a day-two running schedule and a log of press requests are the earliest administrative record of the festival the archive holds. The lineup poster, artwork by Shane Hillman, is held; a separate limited-edition poster by Jermaine Rogers was announced in the paper that May, and the festival's television spot survives as moving image.

The first edition for which a held source gives the full running order: eleven hours a day across the park's stages. A stage guide was published as a PDF and survives as an image; a screenprinted art poster survives as an alternate edition to the lineup poster. A talent plan and a media-credentials register from the 2011 office are held as administrative records and are not published.

The lineup poster, artwork by Jermaine Rogers, is held. Three television commercials and a lineup-reveal film survive from 2012, alongside the festival's recap. The 2012 office left a talent data file, a marketing-and-media summary and a consolidated all-years lineup file; the archive uses them only to corroborate the lineup chronology printed below.

The archive holds the 14 × 48 ft billboard creative approved to print on March 28, 2013, the photograph of the installed board at 45N and Parker, and the final site map for Eleanor Tinsley Park. Post-edition staff reports survive under individual names; the crew is recorded in the roster below by name only.

A proposal written in October 2013 framed the sixth edition around Houston tourism, jobs and economic impact. The production timeline, the final site map of May 22, the emergency-evacuation map of May 28 and the lineup poster are held. After the weekend the festival gathered its first structured staff roster — name, organisation, department, tasks managed — and a post-event attendee survey; the roster's four public fields appear in the credits below, and nothing from the attendee survey is published.

Planned for the bayou and moved to the NRG Park Yellow Lot; the final print map circulated June 4, 2015. Free Press Houston gave its June 2015 issue to the festival as the printed guide for the weekend, and the artist portraits published on the festival site are held. A second structured staff roster was gathered after the edition in the same four public fields; the credits below are read directly from it, and nothing else in that record is published. Newsletters and the public marketing grid survive as communications records.

Organisers announced the move from Eleanor Tinsley Park to NRG Park on May 29, 2016 after weeks of storms; dates were kept and tickets honoured. Full set times survive for both days from the festival's interactive lineup, alongside the poster printed for the park, the by-day lineup graphic and the season's lineup films.

The festival returned to Eleanor Tinsley Park after two years at NRG Park. The archive holds no 2017 poster; the official lineup film is held as moving image only and no performer list is transcribed from it. The paper's local-artist series and its recap close the record.
