BLSHS, pronounced “blushes,” is a Houston synth-pop trio whose work combines electronic rhythms, layered synthesizers, and Michelle Miears’s vocals. Miears, Chris Gore, and Rick Carruth share writing and composition credits on the six-song debut EP Abstract Desires, released in January 2014 through Synth Records. Tracks such as Blushes, Chased by Memories, and Runaway move between restrained passages and dance-floor arrangements, with 808-based rhythms providing a Southern inflection. The EP documents a strand of Houston electronic music in which songcraft and club production developed together.
