Children of Pop is the Houston electronic-pop project led by musician and producer Chase DeMaster. Its recordings move across synth-pop, club rhythms, and more abrasive electronic textures, reflecting DeMaster’s participation in an overlapping network of projects that includes Deep Cuts, Kult Dizney, Guess Genes, and Get a Life. The 2017 single Poids / Étude en Cours marked a turn toward industrial sounds and experimental production, following earlier material such as Pre Madonna. DeMaster’s work with the independent label Very Jazzed placed Children of Pop within a broader effort to circulate Houston music beyond the city.
