Buxton is a Houston band whose music has moved between folk, country, and expansive guitar rock, with Sergio Treviño’s voice and songwriting at its center. Nothing Here Seems Strange (2012) established a recorded reference point for its roots-oriented sound; Half a Native (2015) widened the arrangements through electric guitars, piano, atmosphere, and distortion. Across these records, questions of belonging and the search for home accompany the group’s musical shifts. Later releases, including Stay Out Late (2018) and A Family Light (2023), document a continuing body of work within Houston’s independent music community.
