Fat Tony is a Houston rapper whose name runs steadily through Free Press Houston’s music coverage, which introduced him as “Houston’s Fat Tony” and described him as a rapper and “performer extraordinaire.” The archive holds his appearances at Westheimer Block Party in 2009, Free Press Summer Fest in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and Day for Night in 2016, alongside club headlining sets, support slots and occasional DJ appearances. David Garrick named the short release Look among his albums of 2016, and the paper’s coverage places him among collaborators across the city’s hip-hop and indie circles rather than within a single scene.
