Deep Cuts is a Houston independent pop project whose recordings bring electronic textures, jazz elements, and Latin rhythmic influences into songs about intimacy and modern life. The 2018 EP Slip Off in the Dark was recorded in a shared Houston house between 2015 and 2017, then mixed by Steve Christensen and mastered by Joe Lambert. Its songs move between buoyant synthesizer arrangements and darker electronic ballads. With Chase DeMaster among its collaborators, Deep Cuts belongs to the overlapping community of Houston musicians associated with Children of Pop and the city’s experimental pop scene.

2 appearances documented on Free Press Houston bills. Records are kept to the lineup sources the archive holds; nothing beyond them is stated.
“Deep Cuts: As of late we’ve scaled back on playing live to focus on writing and recording new music.”
