We Were Wolves formed in Beaumont in early 2008 before establishing a Houston base. Its music brought together hard rock, grunge, and heavy psychedelic influences, with an emphasis on volume and ensemble momentum. The album Wolf House (2013), performed by Zach Elizondo, Drew Haught, Jake Hooker, and Vinc Prihoda, was produced by Jake Perlman and recorded by Ben Galloway in Austin. Releases including Ruin Your Weekend (2015) and Empty Plans (2017) continued that work, connecting the band’s Southeast Texas beginnings with Houston’s independent rock circuit and the broader regional recording community.
