American Fangs formed in Houston in 2008, developing an alternative rock sound that paired forceful vocals and post-hardcore intensity with melodic choruses. Fronted by Gabriel Cavazos, the five-piece released an early self-titled EP in 2009 and a self-titled full-length through In De Goot in 2013. The song Pomona expanded the band’s radio audience, while Dirty Legs, released in 2015 through Best Before Records, extended its catalog. Appearances at Free Press Summer Fest, SXSW, and Britain’s Download Festival connected the group’s Houston club origins to a broader touring network.
