The Manichean is a Houston experimental rock collective centered on the writing partnership of Cory Sinclair and Justice Tirapelli-Jamail. Its work combines dramatic vocals, progressive arrangements, and a theatrical narrative concerned with desire, loss, and transformation. The album LOVERS (2012) was recorded at locations in Galveston and Houston, including Sound Arts and SugarHill, with an extensive ensemble contributing strings, saxophone, piano, and electronic textures. The project’s elaborate recording credits and performance philosophy document a collaborative approach in which the rock band becomes a vehicle for sustained storytelling and interdisciplinary presentation.

Houston provenance
“Luckily, all you need to know is that local favorites The Manichean will be performing at a pretty unusual place for a local band- The Alley Theatre - and they will have special guests, some crazy theatre business going on, and even a new 7″ to boot.”
