Dayta is the performing name of Houston DJ Trent Icaza, a member of the Almighty Krackernuttz collective. By 2014, his work included That Good Good at The Flat with DJ Klinch and the monthly Top Notch party at Boondocks with Dallas DJ Sober. His association with the H-Town Sneaker Summit extended back to 2004, connecting club music with Houston’s sneaker and streetwear communities. These recurring collaborations made Dayta part of the city’s network of independent DJs, whose residencies and event programming created meeting places for dancers, musicians, and visual culture.
