Nathan Quick is a Houston singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music combines blues, soul, folk, country, and rock. Raised in Bellaire, he played with jazz groups as a teenager and worked as a session guitarist at SugarHill Recording Studios before developing his own vocal-centered material. Time spent working on an offshore oil rig supplied stories and lyric sketches that he later brought into the studio. The City Lights EP (2015) and the 2016 single “The Sound” document this transition, placing Quick’s forceful singing and guitar playing within Houston’s continuing tradition of roots-oriented songwriting.
