Journey Agents is a Houston funk band whose music draws on soul, jazz, Latin rhythms, and the ensemble grooves of groups such as War and Sly and the Family Stone. Members documented in 2012 included keyboardist and vocalist St. Clair, guitarist Brandon Miles, and drummer Hector Casillas. The album All Up in It (2011) captured a performance approach built around rhythmic interplay and audience participation. Appearances at Discovery Green and a 2012 Free Press Summer Fest booking connected the group’s club-oriented sound with Houston’s public stages, preserving a local expression of funk as collective, participatory music.
