Site Infrastructure — Free Press Summer Fest

Free Press Houston

Fikri Ozcelik, Omar Afra's brother-in-law, worked through the first several years of Free Press Summer Fest, helping get the event off the ground and supporting some of its most essential infrastructure. He assisted with critical systems including power, water and on-site cash collection, in an era when festivals still operated largely on cash and required a great deal of hands-on coordination behind the scenes. An engineer with a practical understanding of complex systems, he brought technical knowledge and infrastructure expertise to an FPSF staff that, in those early years, was largely learning how to build and operate a major festival in real time.

His role and the family relationship are stated to this archive by the paper's publisher; no edition years or job title are established.
