Paul Holzhauer was one of the most important operational figures in the early history of Free Press Summer Fest. After serving as a critical member of the Westheimer Block Party staff, Holzhauer became a foundational leader during FPSF's first three years, serving as Site Director while also taking on major responsibilities across promotion, administration, logistics, and festival operations. His role extended well beyond any single title; he was relied upon across virtually every part of the organization during the festival's formative period. His work for Free Press Houston also included physically delivering the newspaper across the city, piling stacks of the print edition into both the Free Press Houston van and his Mini Cooper and distributing them throughout Houston. Within the staff, Holzhauer earned the nickname “Wolf,” reflecting both his intensity and his reputation as an exceptionally tireless worker. He was widely regarded by colleagues as the hardest-working member of the early festival team, routinely taking on a workload that exceeded even that of founders Omar Afra and Jagi Katial. His contribution was indispensable to establishing the organizational foundation on which Free Press Summer Fest was built.
The staff box printed on p.3 of the held August 2010 issue carries the same pairing, listing Wolf as his line in the masthead.
