Telestron

Telestron was conceived for Day for Night 2017 by VT Pro Design with the artist and director GMUNK, and later toured. The artists' records describe the mechanism: two Kuka 210 industrial robots act as robotic conductors, each manipulating fabricated geometric shades and light sources in a choreographed sequence, so that the moving shades cut the light into an architecture of shadow and beam that travels across the room and its walls. The surviving curatorial record lists the proposal under the working title HALO, as robotic light choreography using robots, lights and gobos; it was presented under the title Telestron.

The work is documented here through GMUNK's and Psyop's project records and the curatorial record; the archive holds no photograph of the Houston presentation. VT Pro had shown Bardo at the 2016 edition.
