Félicie d'Estienne d'Orves
SUN (~8 MN) was Félicie d'Estienne d'Orves's audiovisual installation for Day for Night 2017. The artist's own record describes an exhibition space eighty metres long, filled with fog, through which an acrylic disk carried on a motorised track and lit from within traverses the full length in eight minutes, the time light takes to travel from the sun to the earth; the music is by Franck Vigroux. The surviving curatorial record describes the same work as a light tunnel of roughly 270 feet in which a single source moves the length over eight minutes, modelling the travel time of sunlight. The archive uses the artist's title.
It is documented here through the artist's project record and the curatorial record; the archive holds no photograph of the Houston installation.
