Cluster was the Barcelona studio Playmodes' site-specific installation for Day for Night 2017. Sixteen of the post-office building's structural columns, standing in a four-by-four array, were fitted with LED fixtures and driven together with a spatial sound system, so that an existing piece of architecture became an instrument: patterns of light travelled across the grid of columns in time with the composition, and the audience moved among them as inside a score.

Because the columns were the building's own, the work had no object of its own to show; it existed only while the light and sound ran, and the array read as one instrument from a distance and as sixteen separate posts from within. The work is documented here through NYLON's coverage of the edition and the surviving curatorial record. The archive holds no photograph of the installation.
