Come Touch It

Come Touch It was the installation the studio Work-Order brought to the first Day for Night in December 2015. Free Press Houston's preview of the visual programme, published three days before the festival, recorded the title and the studio's own description of the piece as a giant bug-zapper, and placed it among the year's participatory works, those that asked for a hand rather than a look. The surviving placement record independently corroborates the form: an illuminated structure of hexagonal and tubular light elements set in the gas-station area of the Silver Street site, with haze and sound, and the phrase Come touch it visible on the piece itself as a lit sign.

The archive presents the title on the strength of the contemporaneous Free Press Houston article and the form on the strength of the placement record; no artist documentation of the work has been located and no photograph of the installation is held.
