lull

lull was the environment Vincent Houzé and the New York studio AV&C made for Day for Night in Houston on December 19–20, 2015, in the warehouse the surviving placement record calls the Pedal Party building. The artists' own records describe a 6,000-square-foot unlit warehouse in which a semitransparent triangular structure was raised and used as the surface for an evolving animation of liquid light, generated by simple rules rather than played back, so that the imagery never repeated. Fog filled the room and a sound score ran with the animation, and the projected surfaces read as a volume rather than a screen.
