Casey Reas showed software-generated projection at Silver Street Studios during the first Day for Night. His own project record for the work places it at the festival on December 19–20, 2015, curated by Alex Czetwertynski, and dates the debut of KNBC to December 2015. The piece belongs to the series Reas made from captured television broadcast, in which the signal is decoded, fragmented and recomposed by code into a continuously changing image that keeps the texture of the source without its pictures.

Houstonia's review described the room as festival-goers found it: Reas projected a digitised image on the wall of a small room, a quiet resting place off the main yards. The festival's Artist Series film on Reas, made for the 2015 edition, is embedded here. The lineup poster for the year led its LIGHT column with Reas's name, ahead of Zach Lieberman.
