SHIRO

SHIRO was the second of NONOTAK's two works at Day for Night 2016, and the one built to be performed in. Where Highline was an installation of mirror, light and ambient sound that ran on its own through the weekend, SHIRO was a site-specific structure of projectors and light that served both as an installation and as the stage for the duo's live audiovisual performance. The Houston Chronicle's preview of the festival's conceptual artists described it as an installation and stage for live performance, and the previews in Igloo Magazine and EDMTunes drew the same distinction, SHIRO for the live set, Highline for the ambient environment. In performance the projected light and the score were run together by Noemi Schipfer and Takami Nakamoto from within the structure.

The archive keeps the two records apart and does not merge them. SHIRO is documented here through the Chronicle, Igloo Magazine and EDMTunes previews and Houstonia's captions from the weekend; no photograph of the Houston structure is held.
