AV&C + Vincent Houzé
Phases was the second Day for Night collaboration between the New York studio AV&C and the artist Vincent Houzé, following their warehouse environment of 2015. The work combined motorised mirrors with procedurally generated imagery, the physical and the projected elements driven together as one audiovisual system, so that the reflected light moved in step with the generated picture. Houstonia's captions record onlookers gathered outside the piece and visitors entering it.
Free Press Houston returned to the work in February 2017 with a virtual exhibit, held in this archive, that presented Phases after the festival had closed. The exact final configuration of the installation is described here only as far as the held article and the contemporary press support it.
