The Wiggins is the Houston music project of artist and musician Jon Read. Its recordings combine garage rock, punk, blues, and low-fidelity pop, using rough textures and an individual approach to arrangement as central features of the music. Releases including All the Wonderful People (2024), Perfect Room (2025), and Best in Show (2026) document the project’s continuing output through independent digital distribution. The Wiggins occupies the intersection of visual-art practice and Houston’s experimental rock underground, where personal recording methods and unconventional presentation have supported a durable alternative to more standardized band formats.

“Bliss Blood with the Moonlighters As the voice of the noisy, experimental rock band The Pain Teens, Bliss Blood along with her bandmates carved a style that forshadowed other Houston bands like Indian Jewelry, Balaclavas, and The Wiggins.”
