Two Star Symphony began in Houston in 2002 when Margaret LeJeune and Debra Brown wrote music for an open-mic performance. Expanding into an ensemble of strings, percussion, winds, and other instruments, the group developed original scores for silent cinema, dance, puppetry, and theater. Commissions included The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari for the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and Titus Andronicus for Dominic Walsh Dance Theater. Later work in the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern extended its interest in unusual performance spaces, connecting chamber instrumentation with Houston’s interdisciplinary arts community and the acoustics of the city itself.
