HOU Decide

HOU Decide was a 2015 Houston mayoral-debate collaboration among KHOU 11, Houston Public Media and Free Press Houston. The first live debate, held October 17 before early voting, brought seven mayoral candidates together and used social-media questions and a format designed in part to engage younger voters. KHOU 11 anchor Greg Hurst moderated, with Doug Miller, Omar Afra and Laurie Johnson serving on the question panel. A second HOU Decide debate on December 5 brought runoff candidates Bill King and Sylvester Turner together for a final televised matchup before the December 12 election.
