Dataset

Masthead and staff-box census

One row per name per role per transcribed staff box: who the paper listed, in what capacity, in which issue and on which page.

Coverage
9 transcribed staff boxes, 307 name-role rows. Names are exactly as printed; a contributor slug is given only where the archive resolves the printed name to a held record, never on a first name alone.
Methodology
Staff boxes are transcribed from held proofs or, where noted, from an inspected copy the archive does not hold. Roles are the paper's own wording. Resolution to a contributor record uses the full printed name or a documented spelling variant.
Rights
Descriptive metadata created by the archive is released under CC0 1.0. Rights in the underlying articles, photographs and artwork remain with their authors; the rows describe those works and do not license them.
