Stop & Go 3D at Aurora
Dear Free Press Houston, I’m thrilled to be coming to the Aurora Picture Show to present Stop & Go 3-D . Believe it or not, this will be my very first visit to Houston. Being invited to present at Aurora is such an honor and I’m looking forward to sharing some incredible work with you in this animation program I’ve curated.
The Stop & Go 3-D screening expands on the notion of 3-D animation by incorporating pieces made from both traditional 3-D techniques, like two cameras or color offsetting, and pieces that don’t use any 3-D techniques but result in an optical effect. Through the use of repetition, afterimages and abstraction your naked eyes will be tricked into seeing images jump out of the screen. I’ve also included a couple of excellent animations where a character journeys from a single dimension into a third dimension. In total it’s a collection that will stimulate your optical senses while offering a taste of the playful and poetic.
